The time has finally come for the study tour to commence. The day started early for the majority of the group by gathering at 2:45 at our university to take a bus to Zaventem in Brussels. Once arrived there the remaining members of the group joined and it was time for the first flight to Madrid. Most people took the opportunity to take a nap during this flight which arrived in Madrid at around 9:30. After a layover of 3 hours, which provided the perfect opportunity for some food (or beer) it was time for the flight of 10 hours to Rio. The participants each had their individual screens which could be used to watch some movies, play some games or geek about the elevation and speed of the airplane. During the flight we were also provided with multiple meals, which were of decent quality especially considering they are served in a plane. Arriving at around 18:00 in Rio we went to the hostel and after there was some time to have the first view of the city. After that there was some time for walking around and having dinner at some local restaurants before having an early sleep to recharge for the next day.
