Yesterday marked our first planned cultural activity of the trip: a boat tour through the waterways of Tigre, Argentina. Tigre is located just outside Buenos Aires and is known for the Paraná Delta, a unique network of rivers, streams, canals and islands. The area is a popular escape from the busy city and offers a completely different landscape, where the waterways are an important part of everyday life. We gathered at 10 a.m. in front of the hotel and walked to the bus station, where we took a bus towards the train station. However, buying train tickets turned out to be more difficult than expected, as cash was required — something none of us had withdrawn yet. In the end, we decided to take Ubers instead and, luckily, arrived just in time for the boat tour.

During the tour, we explored the waterways of Tigre, passing numerous piers and docks while enjoying the surrounding nature. The many islands and canals made the area feel very different from the urban environment of Buenos Aires. After the boat tour, we had some free time. Some of us decided to have lunch in Tigre, while others chose to relax and enjoy the park.

Towards the end of the afternoon, we took an Uber back to the hotel in Buenos Aires. In the evening, some spent some time playing pool in the common room before heading out for dinner, while others took the opportunity to explore China town to buy cute souvenirs and eat plenty of snacks. After a long day, the only thing that was left was to prepare for the next one, which will be a free day to explore Buenos Aires at our own pace.
